mmm...the camera will be fine but don't know how you will be fixed when it comes to the battery and charger as they are on only about half the UK voltage.........better check that aspect out I think...commoner.

...BTW..they are sure to be much cheaper but you might have to buy a charger etc.

The Charger will work perfectly well. My Charger for the Canon Ixus 50 works between 100v-240, so that covers America and the UK (it's probably the same charger as for the Ixus 40).

You might need to be wary of any warranty that comes with a camera bought in the US, it might not cover you if your camera fails here. Best to check that out.

But the charger will be fine.
The other thing you need to check is the type of plug! My parents bought me a Casio Exilim from the States and my dad assumed it would come with a British plug but it didn't and I had to buy an adapter to charge it and it works fine!! No problems whatsoever!! I say get it as mine was practically half the price over there and hey I had to fork out 14.99 for the adapter but it is definitely worth it!!
I believe its known as the Canon Powershot SD400 5MP Digital Elph in the USA
