As I write I am downloading W10 after so many requests to do so. I'm still a bit nervous of installing it though. I'm on W7 at the moment, what will happen when/if I do the installation, what will be the main noticeable difference, will all my settings be the same? please.

For the record, and anyone dithering; I'm loving it so far! Thought I'd lost my 'favourites', had the bar across the top though, but found I have to click on a little 3 horizontal line symbol top right and the list drops down as before though neater and on the right.
I see I have still got adblockplus installed but it isn't functioning, this could be because I'm still using the old version of Google, might it work if I change to (something else I've been resisting) Chrome?

These reminders from MS are basically a very aggressive ad campaign; and I don't think they should be allowed to open up their ads on my private PC without explicit owner's permission. If you remove an "update" that creates them, they only update you with it again anyway.
Personally I plan to give it a bash around March/April (if I remember) after most wrinkles have been ironed out by the kind beta testers. If all goes well update my woman's PC a little while after. Meanwhile the intrusive ads are rather annoying.

You could also try the Opera browser http:// www.ope ra.com or Firefox browser http:// www.fir efox.co m and then download / add your ad stuff which will work ok in win 10
Update; everything going well and I find lots of advantages - moving around between various sites is a joy. One small thing I can't figure out, when I want to go into Google (old version) I have to first go into edge and the select it from my favourites, is there a way of putting an icon on the taskbar or somewhere so I can go straight to it please?

You can then move the newly created Web page icon to the top of the Tiles list by mouse click/press and whilst keep pressing drag the icon to the top of the Tiles for future ease of access use.
