Slow Mobile Phone
5 Answers
My Moto G2 is getting very slow when using internet. Is it time to say goodbye and replace? In common with others of a few years old, it only has 8GB Memory and I think 1Gb Ram. Is it Ram or memory that is needed to help it be faster? I am on a cheap Virgin 4G sim only contract 2GB Data with monthly rollover, 1500 mins calls and unlimited text for just £9. They switched me recently from a 3G £8 deal as it was being discontinued. Probably just coincidence but my phone seems to have become slower since the new sim was inserted. I know my phone cannot make use of the 4G but assumed it would work as before. Like I say may just be my imagination. As far as memory goes it is always close to running out of the 8GB internal, saying something like 4.9GB used of 5.3GB (I presume the reminder to 8GB is taken up by android. I do have a 32Gb SD card but that barely gets used as most apps will only download to the in-built memory. Seems a waste of time to have bought the SD card as I do not store music and photos get saved to Google Photos. Before I start looking for a new sub £200 phone, is there any app that can perform a miracle and speed up my phone by "clearing" clutter that I cannot actually see. I do not have many apps and where possible have saved any to the SD card. I do regularly clear the cache.

A new phone may well be the way forward - and then "somehow" transfer over what's on the current phone. Thousands of people do it, so I'm sure I'll learn how to do it - with the help of an ab-er
