Why does my Internet Explorer close when I try to open some web pages?

Try running a full virus scan, a spyware scan using Ad-Aware (available free online) and if your running Windows, see if there are any available updates for your PC at http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/

As above, but depending on what security progs and what security settings you are using you may be connecting to sites that the progs/settings don't like (especially if you're having trouble at work/school).
