1. What would you suggest Lee Anderson does for a couple of hours tonight as England play their biggest football match in over fifty years?

2. If he's so offended by players taking the knee, why not just not watch the opening and tune in at the start of the match???

3. Is he a snowflake?

One of the reasons that England has done better this year is that they've been more of a team, standing up for each other, and less a collection of individuals as in the past. Nice to see so many people supporting their team, too. Obviously not Lee Anderson, poor chap, but I'm not sure that anybody will miss him ...

now open - wonder why it was closed....

he could go to church and pray for a win for us......
Surely an example of cutting one's nose off to spite one's face. The taking of the knee lasts about 5 seconds. In which time he could run up and down his stairs. Not only will he miss the knee-taking, he will also get a little exercise. Win-win :-J

The same as me - go out for a nice meal in a restaurant where he knows the football - with or without "the knee" - won't be shown.

Yeah, but you don't like football, NJ. You're not making the ultimate sacrifice like Lee Anderson who is prepared to miss watching his 'beloved England' play their most important match since 1966. Don't you just admire him? Whaddaguy :-J
Never met the man but he seems like a bit of a fanny.
What would you suggest the England team does for a couple of weeks whilst the rest of the world compete in Qatar for the world cup?

Surely they will be boycotting it?
1. I wouldn’t suggest anything. I’ve no doubt he knows what suits him.

2. Don’t know.

3. He might be as sick of this constant virtue signalling as many of us who think that the politics of the social warrior should be kept out of sport. I don’t want to watch the nonsense that is ‘taking the knee’ (ridiculous expression!) either. In my opinion it does exactly the opposite of its claimed purpose in that rather than bringing people together, it causes resentment and hence, creates division. The sooner skin colour is not constantly being shoved in everyone’s face the sooner it will become irrelevant - and the sooner that happens the better.

Well it appears that the media seem to think that, 1. Gareth Southgate has bought the country together. 2. Gareth Southgate has created a war like spirit, and 3. he has bought calm to the nation. Now I would call that nonsense. The sooner all this go's away the better. He may be right about the war like spirit.

douglas9401 - my guess is that he assumed England would be out after the first or second round so he’d be able to make his point - but then they got to the finals.

Flipping hilarious.

Ellipsis

I don’t know much about football but it really does look like he’s exhibited leadership skills so sorely lacking in this country over the past couple of years.
^^
To paraphrase Oscar Wilde, 'To make one typo may be regarded as a misfortune, to make two looks like carelessness."
Very nice of him to announce to us that he's not going to watch the match .

Sir , frankly I don't care what you do .

You seem to have a bit of the old self-importance going on there .

I don't watch football usually .

However I and millions of others will be watching this match , whether we agree with taking the knee or not .

Good luck England
LOL......very good pasta.........pasta.........pasta,
Oooops! Wrong thread.

Nice to see people making a stand.

Those who think that you can defeat racism and inequality by doing nothing would’ve told Rosa Parks to wait for the next bus and the Suffragettes to go home and do the dishes.

BA to Ellipsis.

And I agree with you Bazile. Best of luck to the team!
Are you going to answer my question?
Apparently the players
//aim to undermine our very way of life//

So to counter this attack on our very way of life, the best he can do is to turn the telly off.
As if that didn’t prove how pathetic he is, he now informs his adoring public that he will now watch the final on the radio.
