no sound on lap top

i have the audio driver installed fom the IBM web site but still nothing,can anyone help please? cheers

Before doing drastic things -

Is it on mute?
Have you checked your volume settings?
Are you getting the Windows system sounds?

checked it all,just getting a beep when i do anything wrong and thats it.

Have you checked in device manager to make sure the driver is working properly and is enabled?
