Morning/a'noon all...neti can't you take Piriton or similar? Sorry if you told us about anti-histamines before, I can't remember everything :o)

Well I'm pleased that my near death experience amused you, tut...I fetched some fuses, replaced the old one & the bulb & it's tested ok. Neti I meant the little fuse in the plug, not the whole fuse box...haha...I'll try not to blow those. They just trip off one at a time nowadays anyway, not like in't ode days when you plunged half the village into darkness. I wasn't sitting in the dark huddled round a candle last night, it was just a bit gloomy on one side of the room (don't like the big light on at night) & I did stub me bloody toe....yes, I thought of you all, laughing your wooly socks off.
[sends 5000 volts down their keyboards]

Glad you made it to your lovely doctor Lottie, I'm ok once I'm in the room with docs, nurses etc, it's the going & then waiting that freaks me out... my Gp's not good looking but he does as he's told :o)

What a wild night it was & it's getting that way again now, I'm glad I went out early. I walked out of the co-op without buying anything because there was an assistant on the till who was coughing non-stop, I'm sorry but it shouldn't be allowed...tut, tut and thrice TUT.
...oh by the way..who mentioned peanut butter 'cos I can't stop eating it now? It had been years since I had any...do you keep it in the fridge, it doesn't say?
Twas me who mentioned peanut butter (and don't forget the mashed banana with it)

Oh we do not have fuses in the 2 pin plugs over here, I had forgotten them! I remember in the 60's when I used to replace them with a needle or wrap the old fuse in foil, they always worked and never went bang!!! Probably better if you do not try this at home!!!
Hello Everybiddy
It is now pouring with rain here so I'm pleased I've been for a walk this morning with my sister. I'm in now for the rest of the day. No footie for me though as The Rams aren't playing.
Did anybody enjoy the Collision drama? I thought it was good for a change. There's not much on tonight though. If I could find someone to go out with I'd go but it looks like I will be in as my friend I usually go out with goes to her Mum's on Saturday.
I've bought my first Christmas cards today. I have still to get what I call my 'specials' for family etc,. I've made up my mind to do that next week.

Must get something to eat now. Have a good weekend all. See yer later 'gater(s) x
I posted my first xmas parcel today, cards all ready for postage next week (when I can afford it)
Afternoon possums, "today we're gonna do shooufflé"! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7mtEoMFJ60 (Am I not right that she sounds like Dame Edna!)

Lottie 'cline' is fine, the context helps a lot and also that the original word makes sense, but xx to you for thinking of me. I don't want any of you to change your language because of me, I enjoy the learning. It's funny, back in the days when I was still eavesdropping I used to hardly understand a word you said Vinny - it was like http://i35.tinypic.com/n56hq1.jpg but the moment I started participating, that all changed, and now I understand... erm... several of the things you say ;-) I have to say Robinia YOU are the one who takes the cake for making me google - but I like it, I like it, don't change it, please don't! I forget most of it but the odd word here and there sticks; you explained 'barnet' to me years ago and that one I remember. Anyway Lottie well done for going.

Yep peanut butter goes in the fridge Robi, the oil turns rancid quicker than you can finish a jar. But it's a shame, 'cos it tastes soo much better when it's not cold. Peanut butter and banana, wasn't that what did Elvis in, Neti! ;-)
Yes swedie, but Elvis had his fried and I found that too completely yukky - having said that thanks to Robi I've just this minute finished a peanut butter and mashed banana sandwich, delicious!!!!!

I never keep peanut butter in the fridge, unlike most of Europe we are not frightened of food posioning, and anyting with vinegar in stays on the shelf, ie ketchups, sauces, onions, in fact even salami or chorizo sausage is kept hanging in the kitchen where the oil drips into a saucer, never ever in a fridge.
Hi folks! Sorry Neti I forgot to sympathise with you about your scratches and itches this morning. Paracatamol does calm itching much as it calms pain. Me lovely doc told me that!! A cool bath before bed, only wear cotton at all times. I presume one of drugs you have is an antihistamine. Don't scratch at all but slap where it itches. Again advice from lovely doc. Scratching makes it worse and if you are not careful you will have what happened to me when I had a weird rash all over. I ended up with 'lizard skin'. You can google it!! Anyway I ended up with weeks off work. Noone ever worked out what the rash was all about. In the end a very strong steroid cream was prescribed by a dermatologist. Calamine is worse than useless.

As for peanut butter, yum, yum. Mine never lasts long enough to have to keep it in the fridge - I eat it by the spoonful so I tend not to buy it any more 'cos it's full of fat!!

As for peanut butter with mashed bananas - well you all know what I think of bananas. Pass the bucket.
Mediterranean food is the loveliest in the world and so good for you. Blow the hygiene. Too much hygiene about these days. That's why there are so many allergies and we have lower resistance to bugs. Love salami Neti but am confined to low fat good for you food!!!!
yes LL i agree, we very rarely suffer from food poisoning and yes we eat out of date food, in fact we have an out of date shop and buy lots of stuff there, never hurt any of us. The local government think it's up to us if we want to eat it, Way too much fuss being made. most "food poisoning" over here is caused by too much alcohol.
ha ha Robi, I actually flinch when I switch the offending lights, and put my hoodie over my head - daft or what?? and they are working normally, it's just that I never know when they are going to bang. heaven help us when we have to switch to those horrid new bulbs, there's a rumour here that we won't be able to buy the old fashioned ones after December 6th - Must get Mr N to bulk buy some of all wattage and thread!!
By heck, it's wild here...I like the sound of nanas with the peanut butter but there's no way I'm going out again. Besides, I've scraped the skin off one of my knuckles & it wouldn't stop bleeding...and then I split the end of my thumb open on a bloomin srdn tin lid, ooooh....now it keeps bursting open
http://i33.tinypic.com/301hk5u.jpg (haha)

I bought some xmas cards about 2 weeks ago & most of my family have stopped this 'special card' racket now, so we just send each other a nice but not ridiculously priced card. In fact I sometimes cobble together a funny or mickey taking card for my sister...like the one I sent with me & Chas on a sample of my new carpet (remember that?)

Yes Sweedie she does sound like Dame E!...and I do think of you when I type Robish but I just love the sound of someone frantically thumbing through heaps of dictionaries :o)

Netitchi - have you tried taking evening primrose oil? Or do you believe in/have homeopathic remedies in Spain? They say they're very good for skin problems.
but it's a thyroid problem so have to get it sorted this Tuesday when visiting the endocrinologist!
I put myself on Skype and just had a 15mins video call from my beloved bro in Canada, ain't technology grand???
hmmm, I suppose it's the joy of being decrepit, even your problems have problems...
I can't understand Neti why you have to take a double dose of your thyroid medicine on three days and 50 mcg the rest of the time .I looked it up but it's all in Spanish :)
If I doubled my dose on any day I'd be bouncing off the walls . In fact I have double dosed a couple of times ,when I'd forgotten I'd already taken them and I felt awful .Shaky, sick and jittery .Mr S always puts them out for me now with a glass of water .
Antihistamines don't help my itching skin at all. Thyroid itching is hell on earth . Even my scalp itches and then breaks out in sores . Mines calmed down now since he upped my medication and using the Dermol so shall see how it goes until the next round of blood letting .It's a pain in the proverbial .
Mention the itching to the endocrinologist .Lay off coffee if you can ...says the coffee addict :)
It's awful here .Lashing with rain all bloody day and howling wind ..Bleugh.
hi shaney, 'tis ghastly weather...it's even worse dahn sarf apparently

Hope you're ok Vinny! can you just wave something so we know?
Yoohoo Robinia ..are you all bright and sparky :) I'm not .Dull and sluggish and browned off that's me today :)
B. all on the tele tonight .Though I shall watch that Berlin Wall thing . I watched Secrets of the Berlin wall last night and it made me cry. Mind you I've got Andrew Marr recorded so I can oogle him .
Collision was good Jude .It kept me on edge .I was convinced the piano teacher had ulterior motives and he turned out to be a Trekkie ! Just waving a wasp away in a car .Just goes to show how easy it is for these things to happen and how they can escalate into a tragedy for all concerned .There were a lot of loose ends though .
Shaney - brilliant, yes my scalp is itching like crazy and getting scabs but didn't dare mention it , as I feel totally yukky with it all - not to mention streaky orange!!! It is driving me crazy!

Well I was on 50mg a day but that dosage was too low so she upped it to 100 on fris, Sat and Sun, will find out more on Tuesday.

Do you recomment Collision as I haven't downloaded it yet, also have the Berlin Wall to watch. Watch one about the Art Deco period and it was about the Orient Express - wonderful, yet another of my dreams!!!!
