Yes the sun is out here too .I have actually pegged out .Though it's still very cold .Better than the continous stair rods we had all day yesterday though . I thought it was never going to stop .Still at least I wasn't sitting on the kitchen table whilst the water swirled around me like those poor people in France etc.

Never mind Robinia .I have a few Pyrex dishes left .We can divvy them up between us and have a competiton to see who can drop one first :)

Lovely day here, I've weeded and bleached the grouting in the bathroom as we are inclined to "black spot" as they say in Cornwall!

Lots of poor people on the mainland have lost everything due to the flooding, on tv it shows their beautiful furniture and tv's all wet and covered in mud and the water level was 5ft.

Well, I have compressed my files thanks to jno's 7-zip but what the hell do I do now!!!!
Question Author
No, no, no, I did not weed the grouting before any of you make a smart remark!!!!
bonsoir...well even though it was very cold the day started with sunshine & after a few cloudy spells now 'n then we're ending it with sunshine, hurray! Even took a cuppa down the garden about an hour ago, it was lovely in the sun.

I've been to church - yes, they do let me in - to say t-pip to the lovely neighbour who died. It's a lovely little church & to see the sun streaming through the windows made it less of a gloomy affair...mimed along enthusiastically to The Old Rugged Cross (why do they always have that?), not because I object to singing hymns but I can't reach the high notes in that one at the best of times...with a dry scratchy throat I sound like a strangled cat. Here's hoping for nice new neighbours in the future.

Don't worry shaney, we've been playing musical pyrex for years since mum died. I inherited some & now I've got some more that my brother had from mum....my sons will be able to set up shop when I'm gone :o). I still get the kn0bbly plate (ie glass with kn0bbles on the underside) out now & then to put sausage rolls on...it's the one mum used to put the sliced tinned ham on ...by heck we knew how to live din't we?

Now, what's on the floor for tonight's dinner?
AnswerBank just ate my post #!! *
be thankful it wasn't your dinner :o)

I've got a glass plate with knobbles underneath and with three little feet that mum always used to put the xmas cake on, hmm, wonder where on earth I've put it??
Trying again... this is the Swede swimming in from the flooded streets of Stockholm. I heard birdsong I couldn't identify (which to be honest doesn't say a lot, as I can only identify the blackbird and the chicken - just barely;) ...but anyhoo it sounded like canaries! I looked up this *very* high tree and saw two birds, all I can say is they were small. Any ideas?

No doubt you'll all be relieved to learn I didn't buy the triptych (the three wall art trays) depicting Pater Sheep and Mater Sheep and Filia. Instead I have sent for two posters of Grand Central Station in New York, a big one and a small one, and I'll decide when they arrive which one I'll have framed.

this is the big one http://i45.tinypic.com/15q6zrm.jpg
this is the small one http://i46.tinypic.com/x6aiz6.jpg

One of my neighbours used to have (a very crackled) oil painting in his bathroom, should I get something too, something water related? Can't decide between Millais' Ophelia http://i46.tinypic.com/10rmjwy.jpg and Keith Haring's Ophelia http://i48.tinypic.com/30v0zyd.png ...
Smallish, at least. I mean they weren't vultures or anything.
Question Author
but they are gonna be small if they are very high up.........
not Haring's usual style, that one, must be from his blue period. But at least it is artier than jno's yellow period.

I can't help you any further with rars, neti, on account of never having seen one. Maybe someone like Buenchico will be along.

Lol at sweedie's piccy!!

Jno, that is lovely where is it!
Beautiful, jno! When was it? (PS Haring was the "stickiest" artist I could think of to ascribe Robi's drowning act portrait from yesterday evening to:)
Grand Central Station New York Neti:)
hahahahahaha...brilliant Kit, definitely the KH Ophelia :o)
Yes, the posters are much better than the spooky sheep...that's one shiny floor, I've been trying to 'spot Vinny' whizzing round on his bufferer.
'Two small birds'? Well that's a fat lot of help...try asking that in A&N & see what replies you get....probably similar to twitchibiza's :o). I would guess at some kind of warbler but I don't know which ones you have in Sweden.

oh yes neti, there must be one of those cake plates somewhere here too...I've never had one of these tho' http://www.steptoesan...ge_cakestand_2297.JPG ... my grandma's must have had a collision with the wall...or grandad. I'd better get one, I've got to have something classy to leave for the g'monsters.

(lost me tinter connection for a while...tut)

No me neither BUT am thinking getting a modern two-tiered one in which to put my fruit display with the bananas on the top one so they do not over ripen when touching other fruit.
ah yes, bananas are so sensitive
