Morning all..ain't no sunshine (yet) today but what a difference it made yesterday. In & out of the garden all day, not actually doing anything, just sat for ages drinking in the smell of the winter honeysuckle & listening to the birds singing, a real tonic...and I slept last night.

That's quite some documentary Sweedie, we get the kind that are entitled "Did Cooking make Us Human?"...mmmm, probably not if it was each other we were cooking. Actually I should have watched it, maybe it explained how cooking was discovered. Well done to who ever it was anyway, apart from a bit of salad I can't be doing with raw stuff/pink meat/sushi...bang it int' oven for 2 hrs, tut.

That's good news so far shaney, hope your pondering test turns out to be ok...They're probably just assessing the alkeyhole percentage, you should have cut down on the gin before you had it done :o)

Mail rec'd not very loud but very clear Jude, :o) Don't worry, hope you feel better & be back soon. x

*frits me summat orful* neti?...you takin' the mick? :o)....I don't suppose you need an address do you you? Everyone must know where you live when double X marks the spot... http://www.writtenaft...oshikazu/big_bra1.jpg

<<stuffs jno's slippers up her trumpet>>...
You're just showing off now jno....but get me a lotto please...
Hello chookies
Lovely day again.Yes the sun is lovely Robinia ,does you good to see it . And it's nice to get the washing out and dry instead of draping it round the house .
I reckon they've got my blood linked up to their ginometer or passed it along to the medical mystery dept .
Jude ,I'm sorry to hear you're feeling a bit low .I hope whatever is troubling you soon resolves itself .Chin up old girl.Keep calm and carry on xx
I wonder how Neti's coaxial is today :)
I'm going to tootle down to library .

Just testing my internet connection!
<<<ring ring>>>...knock! knock!...bing bong....<<<ring ring>>>...knock! knock!...bing bong....<<<ring ring>>>...knock! knock!...bing bong....

No, I'm not trying to get your attention (even though it would be nice)...just recreating my afternoon for you. Some days are all, some are nothing. Have you ever tried reporting a phone fault to BT!! - not mine - heavens to betsy, it would be easier to contact Alexander Graham Bell....grrrrrrrrrr
Don't get me started on BT .They are more than useless .My elderly neighbour has been penalised because she doesn't pay by direct debit but by cheque .We pay online but we still have to cough up an extra four and half notes each quarter because we don't pay by direct debit. We just refuse to pay it and keep them waiting ( we knock it off the bill) but elderlies get worried don't they ?
I flatly refuse to have companies telling me how I should pay my bills, and then have the nerve charge me extra for my personal choice . I make a song and dance about it .Buffer 'em .
oh you & me both shaney, I don't pay anything by direct debit. I told BT when they said it would be fixed within 48 hrs that she was an old lady with health problems...anyhoo, soon afterwards they got back me to say they were aiming to do it within 24 hrs. I should think so too, tut. I was without my phone for days a while back but they did compensate me.
Evening biddies, been a glorious day here, the sun was out, I was out... and none of us fell over. One of my two Grand Central Station posters arrived from the Netherlands (??) - with a big fat oily fingerprint on it and rolled so tightly the paper had creased. What's wrong with people. It's beautiful but feels smaller than I'd imagined, so I'll probably have the big one framed. Can't wait for it to arrive! It has made me think of a book I read when young: By Grand Central Station I Sat Down And Wept. I remember I was so in love with the title - but didn't like the book. Wonder if I'd like it now, it's been a long time.

Received your email Jude - thanks. Be back soon wontcha xxx
Big oily fingerprint ? Was he eating matjes herrings whilst packing your poster .
Send it back and complain !
Oh BT are the pits Robinia .When we moved here from London they cut our internet off although we still had six months left on our contract .Well of course they had to cut us off as we were moving but they didn't reconnect us for nearly two months and we had to use dial up.They said we had broken the contract .Cheeky buffers .I told them that if I wanted to move house did I need to ask their permission first .
After a lot of huffing and puffing they refunded us the dial up charges .I refuse to be held to ransom by these people
.I write to Ofcom and complain about them and then forward them the correspondence when they demand the penalty money .You don't get anywhere though as seen by some lady who took them to court over it but I just like to ruffle their feathers and keep them waiting :))
The thing is we make a lot of overseas calls and though we have a cheap plan from TalkTalk you need the BT line to use it otherwise I would tell them to bog off.

Morning all, hope all troubles are clearing up. Lovely sunny day here but slightly chilly. Am still in bed on lappy (9.30 here) as not much to do, but feeling peckish so will have to shake a leg (ha ha imagining swedie's face as she works that one out!) Will endeavour to go for healthy walk today!
I thought I had posted here yesterday but no sign of it ;-(
Just to say hi all, DH and I are struggling through yet another virus and we have a nice man in painting and odd jobbing atm so life is a bit ummm frazzled (think of another f word) atm
The sun has brough out the snowdrops and mahonia though and the mimosa amazingly is still in full bloom. At midnight on a cold night when the dogs are out having a wee it smells completely delicious. mimosa, not dog wee lol.
Shaney are they pondering because you are a space alien and the blood is green? I mean I know I promised never to mention it on here but we are among friends!! Anyway keep rubbing the ointment in. Have started stcky eared pup on a course of homeopathic sulphur at the suggestion of a friend and it seems to be helpful.
Hi there. What a wonderful group of friends you all are. Thank you so much for all your emails.
Thanks again - see yer later 'gater(s) xx

with reference to my OCD peg colour obsession, I have found a simple solution, when I put the washing in the machine I then line up the pegs 2x2 in their colours and leave on outide table where I put the washing basket - simples!!!!
Well that's taking peggy OCD to new heights Neti :)

I could very possibly have green blood Woofie ,if you could see this ruddy leg and the horrible sight of it .To be honest I don't think this cream is doing much good .I've been rubbing it in religiously now for over a week to no avail .It's still painful and I have to grit me teeth . I hope you both feel better soon .
Lovely day here again ,bright sunshine .i just wish it was a bit warmer.
I have some pegging out to do but I'm afraid I'm not colour co ordinated .
Take care Jude and come back and see us soon xx
Toodlepip for now ..be good .

Thanks to Robi and Kit for explaining how to upload!!! (again!!!)
Well this is good news isn't it ,sunshine at last ,you all deserve it .I love the garden photos especially jno's gardenia(?) and her own private lake .Neti I don't know how you manage to remember all the bits and pieces of your computer but then I suddenly remember you are so much younger than I ! Sometimes (a bit like Robi ) I start to do something only to forget what I was going to do .
In my case they call it the ageing process .
Mr D. is recovering nicely ,the heart surgeon is pleased with him and doesn't want to see him for 12 months . He doesn't look like death warmed up now -that was very worrying especially as I can't drive ! (just joking) Shaney about your sore leg what is actually wrong with it ? if you don't mind me asking . Met up with another Pommie at lunch today and we were remembering the days of Liberty bodices and Grandma putting goose -grease on brown paper and the covering your chest and back with it in Winter. We laughed and said the old remedies were the best .
Well time for bed ,allthe best to everyone especially Jude .
Love Dolly xx
