I am a sort of "put tree up. throw on ornaments" gal. Mr W puts on the lights and the fairy and then I do the rest. Rab is a little sweetie but he does look fed up doesn't he? He's quite a serious boy. Shughy is the clown.

We have the fire on for the first time this year. The dogs love it. There are now two layers of vetbed spread in front of it and the boys will take it in turn to bake themselves.

I've had a very fraught day .My bro came up from Suffolk this morning to get my aunt who's spending Christmas with him ,so I made him a snack and he went to get her to bring her to mine to exchange pressies ,then we had to go round to my other bro and then she left her bloody reading glasses at mine so back we go again and I finally waved them off about five .

So I rushed round and threw a tin of spuds and a tin of corned beef in a pan and bunged a fried egg on top because MrS's old colleague was coming to see us .
We live high on the hoof here yer know :)
He's just gone and I am knackered .

The shop sent me an email the other day to say my mobile had arrived but when I went there it hadn't... so no Christmas photos from me. Biddies keep everything crossed that they will bring the plastic down today for the holidays. They have said that they will, but they said last week they'd do it on Monday (as in the other day), so...

Normal service this morning. I have those spikey crampon things like Kits and today it was just okay using them. I pottered around in a (bag) ladylike sort of way while the dogs went crazy it was lovely. Home now finishing my coffee, dogs are flaked, kip soon. Kit I am keeping everything crossed and talking to ceiling cat about your plastic. Shaney is your clock a radio controlled one? Its blooming handy when the clocks change.

Morning all, we are having a big food shopping day today, it;s traditional, and then tonight we go to Ibiza city to see the Belen (Nativity scene) in a church and then stroll round all the stalls and buy hot chestnuts and then go for dinner in a special restaurant which we always do.

Swedie there's nothing to worry about, ok I'll you, but I asked woofy for prayers becuase we believe in them. Daughter has had pre cancerous cells in cervix for 6yrs and tests every 6months have been fine except for last lot which were inconclusive, so she's had another test and we will find out in January. Even the doctor said not to worry, it probably is just be a hiccup in the smear test. But I like to hedge my bets, which is where woofy came in. Anyway it's not going to spoil xmas, and she's more worried about her bazooms, as stitches out next Tuesday!

Neti my dear possum you know you really can't say "the worst has happened" and not expect your friends to worry about their friend♥ so thanks for letting us know what we're worrying about;-) I don't pray to a schoolbook God but I am a spiritual person and I like you a lot so I'll contribute in my own ways if I may. Thanks for your kind words about my house. It does look lovely in photos but I can tell you in is, as most 200 year old houses are, hard bloomin' work!! Bits fall off it, rats get in the loft, spiders adore it (so you would hate living here Nets). There is always something that needs doing, and lots of unfinished things that got started but Mr LL didn't finish!! It's very warm though and cool in the summer. However, it's home and home isn't about buildings or decorations in my opinion.

We all have lovely homes and I feel for Kit whose home has been 'invaded' and must feel alien to hers at the moment. Lots of Love to Kit xxxxxxxxxxxxx Mr LL told me that Stockholm is having it's coldest winter ever at the moment!! He was in Stockholm about four or five years ago for a couple of days (work).

Neti, hope things are OK for your daughter. Will be saying my own version of prayers for her.

Woofey, just out of interest. The Madonna and Child on my wall is part of a group of pictures, two of which are hanging on my fireplace in one of the photos. They are 'etchings' done by someone called R. Stephenson as were paid to my great grandfather in settlement of a debt. The last picture is with my Aunt in Australia, rolled up somewhere. I really haven't got the heart to ask her for it because she is 86 now and I don't want her to think I am after her stuff before she leaves us!! However, it would be nice to have the full set. I don't know how much they are worth - I don't care really. They are part of our family history.

Fingers crossed for the best outcome for your daughter neti, what a worry...but take heart, it seems to me these cervical cancer tests are often inaccurate, so many times I've heard about results being wrong.
Hope the mystery appt goes well too shaney, I'm laughing at you frantically opening tins & flinging them in a pan, haha. It doesn't work so well with rusty label-less ones - fried rice puddin & peas - not the best combo :o)

Fingers (& paws) crossed too Charlie seems ok today so I might get to nip out & grab some mince pies & few nibbly bits.

TBH KIt, there are only two people capable of discussing (arguing lol) in a straight line, Naomi and that mcb.... person and Naomi has been known to get abusive when she doesn't get her own way, or use logical fallacies and tricks (eg "you clearly haven't understood me" lol). I add my two pennorth when i feel like it but IMO much of what they say about organised religion and the bible I agree with and I don't think you can argue people into faith...especially when they don't want it.
