Norton just blocked one a few minutes ago and classified it at 'High Risk'.(unusual for me)
I have the IP and googled it and it homed in to a location in Dallas.Texas
Is it worth trying to find out who it was?

Total waste of time. If it really was a genuine hacking attempt, the malware packets will almost certainly be masking their true IP address, and will have picked the one you're seeing at random...
