Honeymoon Period

How long does your honeymoon period last? And I don't mean those people who say "Well we've been together 15 years and it's still as wonderful as the day we met!" !! The bit at the start, the rose-tinted specs, the obsession, infatuation, when you give up your hobbies, take on their music tastes, have sex all the time, believe they can do no wrong. In my experience it lasts up to 18 months before reality sets in, but what's your experience of this?

To be honest I dont remember but I think it was a bit less. It is going to be different for everyone I think. All I know is that close on 40 years later it is definitely over.

i dont ever remember that happening.....that infatuation period i mean...and we were together for 45 years, 38 of them married. we just kind of......fitted together.

about 5 minutes? Neither of us really does infatuation. I expect it's different for everyone, but with luck both halves of a couple will feel the same.

Must be so different for every couple......I suppose it can slowly drift into something different but just as nice....or it can end suddenly when he buys you a vacuum cleaner for Christmas...☺

I can honestly say that after 25years our relationship is fairly similar to day one.

We've grown older and both changed, but we've done that together and in equal measure. He likes Downton Abbey i loathe it; I like going to the cinema, he has to be dragged along; but fundamentally our values are the same and we have much more in common than not.

Reminds me of joke - I bought my wife a new bag and belt for Christmas, so the old vacuum cleaner will last a lot longer now.

I bought my wife the latest apple home gadget for last christmas - the i-ron. Have now recovered sufficiently to be able to type this without assistance
