Can anyone confirm that the electricity in Dubai is 220v, and that the plugs are the same as UK ie 3 pin? Thank you.

Warning - about to use the C word

My clicking finger's moving even if the rest of me isn't...I've started my Christmas shopping (hopefully), I've ordered a couple of things from M&S for sis and bro-i-l. Only 10 weeks to Dec 1st you know....haha....don't you hate people who start talking about it before November.

I love Christmas. Don't know if I am coming to UK or not yet. Would love to.
Good morning all. We had the mother of all storms last night, luckily we didn't leak but loads of houses did.
I've been clicking along the sea front.Thought we would have a last blast by the beach as it was nice out and it looks as if it's going to change tomorrow Had a brunch lunch and it was very breezy down there but warm in the sun.
Tut ..these organised Christmas people .... :)
spent the day hauling weeds otu of the lawn and trying to fill up what will probably becoem bald patches with compost nad grass seed, with netting over which might keep out the birds and squirrels. For some reason this makes my hip hurt. Next year maybe it will be a lovely green lawn or more likely a bombsite.

Good morning folk!
Had a terrific time last night at the 12hr music festival, but unfortunately due to the heavy rain the previous night, the authorities deemed that 2 stages on the beach may not be used, so no one knew who or what we're play where or when. I just danced to whatever. Have a thick head today and feel we may stay at home .
Another huge storm last night just as we got home luckily.
Hope you are all ok.
Shaney that sounds very pleasant, makes me think of Eastbourne.
Morning each...my head's scrambled too, not because of any gallivanting though, I just woke up every hour and a half. The rain was hammering down at 4.30 this morning, it's undecided at the moment.

Lol shaney, I often start off early with good intentions but that's it until I'm doing that panic thing the first week in December. We don't have so much to do now though since our family's dwindled :(

good morning all. Up at 3am again on account of the weather...think I will spend today doing nothing much
Hello all
We've had no rain as yet,not a drop ,although it was forecast.
Join the club Jno ,I know the feeling. My hips and knees are screaming today.I don't think walking up and down the slopes on the cliffs helped yesterday.Keep moving is my motto but it seems the more I move the worse it gets at times.
Nothing doing here ,same old .Hope you're all ok though.
agh, got bitten by some tiny insect on top of a previous bite, just while out walking. It has been stinging like crazy for an hour and a half and is red about two inches around. Little dark spot makes me wonder if he left something behind when I smacked him. I have taken an antihistamine tab, we'll see if that works,a nd I've put some frozen peas on it. Ouch.
Morning...last night's dream starred Neil Dudgeon (John Barnaby, Midsomer Murders)...very nice.
Hope the bite doesn't turn nasty jno. I don't wait to see what happens now, as soon as I even suspect I've been bitten I take an antihistamine.

It's dark, cold and raining, RF is a mean 8C. :( I almost ran the heating through, it felt very bleak in the bathroom and kitchen first thing.
Hardly moved yesterday, the wind was chilly and annoying and I didn't feel so good. I'm fighting the urge to hibernate.

Hello all
No rain here as yet but it must be on its way according to my screaming body.
Ow Jno ..I've been lucky this year and not been bitten as yet. There's still time though.Try some Eurax cream if it keeps itching.Stops any itchycoos dead.
I live in dread of being bitten these days especially on my legs.

Hello all. Sweaty weather still. I've been bitten unmercifully this last month and the bites are huge and last for ages. I blame Brexit and zika.
Hija just treated me to lunch which was nice. We are not doing Pacha tonight which to be honest is bit of a relief. She wants to see her new beau before she flies away to Dubai on Thursday night.

Getting her washing done now. Even the new sheets for a smell of home!
well, that was perfect timing! I managed to finish watering the lawn just in time to get indoors and avoid the downpour. I might have got soaked if I'd stayed out any longer.

Shaney, I am well smothered in Eurax but still itching. It has spread far enough to reactivate two little ant bites that hadn't been bothering me at all and are now red and angry. The insect world is opening an attack on me on two fronts.

I use hydrocortisone cream.
Sky looks overcast!
Perfect timing here too .Just managed to whip the washing off the whirly before the heavens opened .
Watch those bites like a hawk Jno.The last thing you want is any infection.
Mums laundry always smells the best Neti or so I've been told.I've got some fab new stuff from Wilkos for the delicates and dark colours.Liquid soapflakes .Brilliant ,and you can use it in the machine .No more faded black trousers .
Well ,autumn has definitely arrived.Time to reserve more library books, order crossword mags and buy more wool.Must dust off the colouring books too and get the slow cooker out.

Same here, thoroughly miserable wet day and I got back from the shops this morning while it was still only spitting. Bloomin chilly and extreme frizz alert. :)

Hija's black uniform this summer definitely changed to a shade of grey and shrunk about 4" (who me??) Plus the bleach pattern which I had to colour in religiously everyday.
And there are some very strange looking mosquitos about. Have seen 3 today, big beggars, maybe the tiger mosquito which they had on the other side of the island, but something different is biting me which is resistant to my Mossie tabs that I plug in every night and normal mossies can't stand the air con but these can!

Hija has been shopping, she loves shopping, and has half thrown things in a new suitcase. She's meeting her new love interest at 2am when he finishes work, reminds me of when I first arrived here and had a chef boyfriend who used to call for me at 1am with his pinny still on. He didn't last long! I am so much happier when she is tucked up in her own bed! ( deep sigh )
