We are staying in Verona in 2 weeks time and would like to go to malcesine where the cable car goes from in lake Garda.
We are thinking of getting a train to Sirmione and getting a taxi from there.
Does anyone know how much taxi would cost and number of taxi companies on lake garda

I don't think that there is a railway station at Sirmione. Peschiera del Garda would be a better choice. You could walk or take a taxi to the port then, assuming you have time, take a ferry to Malcesine.

I was thinking of getting a taxi from peschiera delgarda o malcesine as I have a disabled child and the boat takes 2 hrs.
Do you know taxi firms or costing or how I would find out?
Thank you
This appears to show a number of authorised (20 or so) of Taxi Companies at Lake Garda.

If you are staying in a Hotel in Verona, I suggest you speak to the Concierge who may be able to advise more accurate prices. The Hotel may also be able to book the transfer for you or recommend alternatives e.g. Bus

By road: Peschiera del Garda to Malescine appears to be 50 - 55km
The closest railway station to Malcesine is Rovereto (33 km / 21 miles). The single train fare is €6.95 if you use the Regionale trains (with journey times of around one hour). Eurocity services (taking 37 minutes) cost €9.90. Frecciargento trains also take 37 minutes but the fare is €13.00. (All services are direct, with no changes involved).

A TripAdvisor thread from three years ago quotes the taxi fares from Rovereto as €1.50 per km, so that would suggest a fare of around €50 to Malcesine (but it would probably be better to allow at least €60 to take inflation into account).
Hi Hannah

There is an excellent bus service between central Verona and lake Garda and around the lakeside resorts. The Tourist Information office has all the timetables and the staff will help you plan your journey. It's a lovely city and I'm sure you will have a wonderful time.
