We're not panicking about coronavirus but we've opted not to book our usual crossings to mainland Europe yet. What we don't want is to be quarantined somewhere outside the UK or stuck trying to cross borders between different countries (we usually take our caravan and roam Europe for a few weeks).
Trouble is we dont know what will happen with this virus or where it will be from day to day. I wouldn't book until it's dying down. A late holiday perhaps?
Apparently you can get 5 days in Northern Italy in a 4* Hotel for under £150 each all in …..
I think it would be silly to book a holiday until we know where we are with the virus - it could and hopefully will fizzle out but will only do that if people take sensible precautions.
I suppose though ZM that you could find yourself held in quarantine and unable to get back to the UK. Or worse, ending up in a foreign hospital with the virus.
Unfortunately for us, we booked the villa on il de re and the ferry crossings just over two weeks ago, just before all the CV hooha in Europe.
Unless the foreign office officially puts a stop to travel by June then we either still go or lose a lot of money.
I wish we hadn’t booked, I’m really not happy about going now.
If it was me Bazile, I’d not be booking anything at the moment, wait and see how the next couple of months pans out.
