I am terrified of the needle, an injection and I literally shake with fear at the prospect of having an injection. So, is there any kind of numbing/freezing cream/spray that can be put onto the "area" to be injected? Ta Muchly.

Oooo, I feel for you jennyjoan, how on earth do you manage; no need to answer that. Very good link to GOSH buenchico, I'll keep that in mind - as all of these pieces of advice.
There was some advice in the media a while ago which apparently helps (though it is hard to see why)

If you are having an injection in one arm, look at the back of your other hand when it is being done.
I have to look, otherwise you are sitting there waiting not knowing when the prick is coming. Better to look and know when it's coming.
You are right silliemillie - all needles are pricks. LOL
yes, my dentist puts gel on my gums before injections. He confessed recently that he doesn't think it works; I told him it does - I dont go completely numb but it seems to diffuse the feeling somehow. The stuff Buenchico links to may be something similar. But do tell the person giving the injection; some (not all!) are very good at keeping the sensation to a minimum. I actually find the best way is for them just to keep talking to me about anything while they're doing it so I concentrate on the conversation rather than the needle.
