Yes.
I would be worried too.
I don't think schools have doctors, do they?

They usually have a nurse, but can't imagine him/her doing a mass testicle check. How old is gson? He should see his GP if he's worried.
Clover, most private schools with boarders have a GP practice that visits as required and undertake basic health checks at various milestones.

10y & so upset at visit to GP. The doc/nurse was female.

What are the consequences sqad?
2 main dangers tambo.
a) Infertility.
b) Small but significant increase of the incidence of testicular cancer.
He's ten!

A tad early to be fretting, surely?
Rather surprised this hadn't been picked up sooner, are they planning to treat?
My son was checked by a school doctor before going to secondary school. He was found to have a "floating" testicle which was quickly dealt with and has had no problems. He would have been 11 at the time.
