we moved house nearly 4 months ago. we got the cat all settled in so she wasnt stressed. got her used to the new house and everything. but she's just started using behind the tv as poo place.
whats that all about.

Hard to say... she's a cat. Try placing the litter tray in that area and then gradually move it once she starts using it. We had good luck putting an extra litter tray next to the original one when our Persian began eliminating elsewhere...

Good ideal Clanad. There could be many reasons why: Was there a cat/dog in the previous home, it may smell like a potty area, make sure and clean it all the way to the carpet pad with an enzymatic cleaner that has active enzymes in it to take the odor away, if it is an old spot it may have to be treated quite a few times to get it removed. You may need to re-train your kitty over again on litter tray, unless this house is built the exact way your old home was she may be a bit stressed, she won't show it, cats don't like to show weakness, and if she sees another cat she may feel threatened, make sure she feels comfortable where YOU want the tray, if SHE doesn't like where you put it she may find a safer/less traffic/easier place So figure out why, cats who have had good potty habits then change their litterbox habits it's for a reason, they don't do it out of spite or revenge.

she's been fine for the last month or so. she's been using the litter tray, and still does to urinate. its oak floor and gets totally cleaned when she's been.
i hate the bloody creature, happy to get rid of it and just let the labs have the run of the house.

Could try putting some food in the spot as most cats won't mess near food.

you say that you hate her. Maybe she is just doing it because she knows this. Cats are "peculiar" animals and can be quite difficult. They do what they want, when they want and at their own pace. I prefer dogs but cats are good company and never boring.

LOL! my cat has done this too, I think the behavior is largly psychological in my cat. She comes into my bedroom all the time and stares at me and does something naughty waiting for a reaction....this may be a bit of a different situation, but I think perhaps the move had something to do with your kittys new behavioral problems

Give your cat extra love and affection and perhaps she will stop trying to find negative ways ways of acheiving attention.
