First stop is Century Twenty One, which is sort of similar to tk maxx ( but more upmarket ) it is opp ground Zero and to the side of the Millenium Hilton. The signage is pretty poor, a sign on a first floor level flat roof - that is dwarved by it's surroundings.

For electricals and games the best place is J and R in Lower Manhatten.

it is a bit dirty on the outside but persevere the savings are worth it, check opening hours before you set off though.
There are streetmarkets in Midtown on some weekends, these are always worth a look. Haggle with the dodgy handbag sales man especially if business is slow : I got two for 30 Bucks for my sisters.
