APG sounds delicious, not.
You may not have seen it, but there is an apology for you @ 13.45.
Going to stick to Ducksie's suggestion.
Thanks again to you all for your answers.
PS you can still talk among yourselves if you like but I'm off to the shops now. xx
Barsel, its ok no apology needed. :-) I used stevia when I was on a low carb diet and found it ok, but I don't use much sugar anyway. I use honey now for its anti -inflammatory properties, but thankfully, I havent got a sweet tooth so don't use much.
I'd recommend that you try to wean yourself off the craving for sweetness. Maybe reduce your sugar gradually until one day you find the sweet taste rather sickly. If you replace sugar with artificial sweetener you are just feeding your habit by taking in chemical imitations of sugar which make you yearn for more sweet flavour.
I got my OH off his two spoons of sugar in coffee/tea. He started by reducing to 1 3/4 spoons and every week took 1/4 of a teaspoon off. After a couple of months, he was coping with a 1/4 teaspoon . I made him a coffee with two spoons of sugar in and he couldn't drink it -too sweet.
I agree that weaning yourself off the taste of sweetness is the most important thing you can do. As long as you continue to use sweeteners, you'll crave sweetness.
