I think it was obvious that the Queen had died the minute the BBC cut into its' broadcasts. They don't do that to tell us she is ill. That usually goes out in a press release. I said as much to Mrs Clarion. Anyway, it seems to me that she just couldn't handle having to meet 2 armpits in one day, last Tuesday. I remember being at a street party on coronation day and it was persisting down. I think everyone will find it a bit strange and slightly vacant now that she's died. RIP.
Hi Clarion
Times dont fit your analysis. 12 30 black ties donned - 16.00 She dies
It was all because - - - Peter Sissons wore a red tie ( and presumably smirked as marxists do) when the Duke of E died.
100 000 complaints on that
another 100 000 over cutting the schedules - over which some of the usual whiners have been whining on AB ( no Tenofus, no love island, no "who does wot in Oz" ). I recollect my muvva was one ( she could write) who objected to Nelson Mandela's walk to freedom ( loudly enjoyed by the Beeb marxists) cutting into Antiques Road Show.
// your remarks about Peter Sissons are both impertinent and very wide of the mark //
….not to mention a little chronologically inaccurate - mr sissons announced the death of the queen mother wearing the now famous burgundy tie, not the duke of endinburgh’s…
Naomi, thank you for posting Boris' tribute to HM. He proved what a fine orator he is. Great speech and I admit to laughing out loud at the parachuting anecdote.
I mentioned only Theresa May's speech, not intending to be disingenuous to anyone else, but because it was the only one from a former PM that I caught.
