My phone is coming to the end of its Tesco contract so I am going to get a new one. Is it only Google Photos and my Emails that need a password, can Tesco download my Contacts, Gallery, and Messages automatically into my new phone so I don’t lose anything? I am not very technical …. Thanks all.
It can certainly be done smurf but I have no idea if Tesco provide the service. If you wish to do it yourself just look up "Smart Switch". I'm definitely not a tech person but managed to transfer all of my stuff without any bother.
Of you put your current SIM card in the new phone all your contacts and messages will be there.
If your photos in Gallery are also in Google photos they'll be there when you log in
If you already have a google account then they have already stored your contacts. When you get the new phone just log on to google and your contacts and photos will already be available.
You don't have to get a new phone. Once the contract ends you have paid for the phone so it's yours. You can then stick with Tesco for calls and data, or go elsewhere.
That's a good point, Hopkirk, I've never had a phone on contract so I've saved a lot of money over the years. My current phone is 5 years old and still does everything except connect to 5G.
Some very cheap SIM only deals available now
So if I don’t do anything and just keep my phone, what will l be paying Tesco every month? Will the price go up or down? I always use less than the monthly allowance for calls etc.
