So sad to hear that Sir Chris Hoy has terminal cancer.  Great sportsman.  

Happy to hear that Sir Andy Murray has won his first golf championship.  Life after tennis.

Very sad about Chris Hoy.  He's as good at commentating on and explaining cycling races as he was at competing in them.  I hope the doctors have got it wrong and he's with us for many years to come.

Given 2 too 4 years not unknow for some to go on longer. After watching an American program a few months back their was great progress by completely changing ones diet. Its some of the foods we eat that is allowing this cancer to finish us off. The saying ( you are what you eat) is so very true) we just dont seem to accept it untill the cancer bomb its us or family member.

Bad news about Chris.

Let's hope he has a few more years yet.

Such bad news and he says he has known about it for almost 12 months.  Also the news that his wife has MS.  Think they have a son all of this is going to be very hard for him to get his head around.

especially if it is someone else's  - terminal is now used for Stage IV ( disseminated)

NOT the same as Palliative ( they have given up)

2-4 y is not exactly terminal to me -  I listened carefully: it has spread  beyond the lymph nodes ( gtr than stage III)

I knew he had cancer (or some health issue)

I was channel hopping yesterday and came across him commentating on the world track cycle championship .

I thought to myself , oh , he must have been successfully treated .

Then I saw the post on here later in the sports section  

How brave he must be to continue in the public eye , given also his wife's diagnosis
