Stain removal

Does anyone know of a proved method of removing perspiration and/or deodorant stains from the underarms of a silk blouse?
A method that will not damage the silk or affect the colour of the blouse (red).

Thanks for that web site details. I spent a while exploring it and found some other useful tips as well as one to answer this question. Have not tried it out yet but will post the results here to let you know!

Since it is silk, it sounds like a job for a professional dry cleaner to me. Silk is a difficult fabric not to ruin.

I appreciate what you say about silk being easy to spoil and drycleaning may be the best option but I think I will still give the tip I discovered a try because it does not sound as if it will damage the fabric.

Additional comment to BBWCHATT.
I have found drycleaners damage clothes as well! I have had a perfectly ordinary raincoat shrink at the cleaners as well as still having some marks on when returned to me!

Wordy - being an old lady I have had MANY cleaners over the years - and I have found that like everything there are good ones, not so good ones and REALLY bad ones :) My favorite one has gotten toooooo expensive for me to use now - but they did a GREAT job - and even put tissue paper inside the sleeves of my silk blouses, jackets and coats.

Just to update all of those who offered suggestions. I tried a tip I found on the Hints and Tips website mentioned, one using aspirin.
Sorry to say it did not work. BUT - it did not damage the silk or affect the colour. I had left the stain for some time which may not have helped. And the stain may have deodorant mixed in with it as well, which again may not have helped. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions.
