has anyone ever pulled a muscle in their chest and had a feeling of a bit breathless and it hurts t breathe in?

Hi,

Have you been doing anything strenuous eg lifting or had a really bad coughing fit or been really sick (vomitting)??

These can all lead to a pulled muscle in the chest or even bruised/cracked ribs, which will REALLY hurt when you try to take a deep breath!!

Sorry but, unfortunately there is very little you can do for it other than take painkillers for a couple of days until you start to feel better!

Yes and it hurst like hell. Poor You. I think that Petes dragon is right - very little to be done except to rest and take painkillers. My hubby did it too over Xmas - he was in real pain every time he took a breath. Hope you feel better soon.
Are you SURE it is a pulled muscle?

Chest pain cannot be ignored. If in any doubt get professional advice NOW

i just sA T down on the sofa in a funny position thats when it started to hurt , i felt a funny noise and that was it . can you really pull a muscle just by doing this?

yes it is and the pain can go into yor shoulder right? how long does it take to go? i find now im in my 40 s i only have to turn badly or have a long swim and my muscles are all out !!
Inflammation of the cartilages of the rib can also cause this - very painful it can be, too!
