I know the parking procedure at the nec.but this time we are getting dropped off and picked up.Are we allowed to go right up to doors to be dropped off and what is the procedure for being picked up.Thanks if anyone can let me know .

Hi Wendilla, whenever we go to the NEC we park on the Birmingham International Station car park and walk across above the station over to the Arena - it's much easier than using the main car park or battling with the car park staff. You should be able to be dropped just outside the station building - it's about a 10 minute walk - just follow everybody else!

hi thanks for your reply but one of the ladies in our group wouldnt manage to walk that distance. she is not reg. as disabled but can't walk very far. usually we park and then get on the bus but this time we are getting a lift then picked up and this is why i wanted to know if we could drive right up to main doors .but i shall remember this for any future visit thanks

You can not drive up to the main doors a sit is pedestrianized. There are various ways to gain access, but all are on foot.

There is a taxi rank not far from one of the entrances, but i am sure you mean you are going by your own car.

surely there must be somewhere near the main entrance where we can be dropped off.was wondering how disabled people get dropped off as not all people can get on the buses thanks

Why don't you email the NEC and ask them for disabled access? Should find them in the search engine.

thanks in a pickle I did read through that page but still cannot get anywhere that says where you can be dropped off near the door.I have e mailed nec info but still awaiting reply.only other alternative is to be dropped off near the car park and take shuttle bus and same on exit.thanks again for your reply.

I wouldn't worry about parking in the car park. I frequently go to the NEC, and if you get to the venue in good time, you have a 5 minute walk (which isn't really so bad, is it?). You can't, however, drive right up to the main doors, but as other people've said, there are buses which take you to the place. Hope you enjoy yourselves!
