Embarrassing Bodies
38 Answers
Why is it that most who have appeared on this show this week have said they're too embarrassed to go to the doctor yet they're perfectly happy to show and tell the whole nation?
Also, why on earth would you 'put up' with something for 20+ years, i.e. last night there was a woman with a collapsed bowel and woman with bad incontinence?
I really am baffled by this.

You can improve your shape and size through healthy eating and exercise. Liposuction isn't a quick fix to weight loss and should only be used on areas of stubborn fat, that doesn't go through regular diet and exercise.

I agree with Velvetee - although, paying for it might not always be wise either. My friend recently went to Poland, and for 2000 had the lippo she wanted, plus a brilliant holiday to boot. She was, however, left in pain, and now that she's back home, it turns out that the procedure perforated something inside. She's had to have an operation to fix it! I think sensible dieting and exercise is the only way really, and anyway, we're not all meant to be void of any fat at all.
Brill! I'm pleased for you Velvetee. Can I ask if you expect the results to be permanent, or do you have to watch your diet from here on in? Although I gave that previous example, yes, i also know folk who've had successful fat removal - but they don't talk about it much, as they like to pretend they've got back into shape simply through their own hard work! LOL!
mandimoo - your GP may see the risks involved in liposucton and not be prepared to recommend any surgeon. Any good GP would be against unnecessary medical procedures.
Far better to accept that nobody is perfect and no body is perfect and learn to live with our faults and lumpy bits.
I always think of Barbara Streisand - there is no one part of her face that is classically beautiful but it works on her.
But I agree, Dakota - you would imagine a person too embarassed to see the gp would be far too embarassed to show it on tv.

what i also found strange was that some of the people had seen a specialist and tried different treatments and then theses docs come along and in 5 minutes sugggest something and they are cured, i was thinking of the girl who skin kept breaking on her legs and the doc told her to put some cream on and wrap iher legs in cling film and it worked, so how come a dermotologist didnt think of that?
