Device Manager
1 Answers
The following problem has just appeared recently:
When I open the Device Manager and scroll down to Storage volumes I now see 5 yellow apostrophe marks and the names Generic Volume. If I then open any of those I get :- ' This device cannot start. ( Code 10).
The problem was noticed when I tried to insert the memory card from my camera into the front of the tower ( it has a card reader fitted ) and nothing happened, by that I mean the green 'read' light didn't come on and I now have to connect the camera, through a series of cables.etc. into one of the USB ports;all working!
Where do I go or what do I do?
My system is Windows XP, Home Edition with SP3 installed.
Any constructive help , please!
Many thanks

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.in the device manager click on the little plus next to "unversial serial bus controllers" and then go down the list of items under that heading one by one, right click on each one in turn and select "uninstall"
once you have removed them all close device manager and restart your computer, on startup it will re-detect the usb devices and install them again and should fix the problem.
