I recall a game show from possibly the 1980's where they introduced a striped yellow ball that was worth 10 points. The idea was that when a player commenced a break, the firts colour potted determined what the value of subsequent potted clours were worth for that break. eg. red (1), blue (5), red (1), black (5) etc.

I think they had professional players taking part in the show. The 'extra' coloured ball was worth 10 points therefore creating a maximum break of 292.

Anybody remember?
