1) What did they tell you at the Job Centre?

2) How many local newspapers have you looked through?

3) How many (on-line) recruitment agencies are you registered with?
try tesco and morrisons.

well i only go to connexions as im 17, so i dont rli bover with job centre, but they keep telling me to look in their job book, go online and search whioch i do every week and still have found nothing. and im not registered with any online agencies
Hmm - let's hope you never have to take an initiative test...

Or <shudders> a written test...
Question Author
yeah lets hope.
and i tried tesco twice now and both times they said no. morrisons said the same. they said they have no jobs each time ive asked.
MarkRae - why so harsh?
The poster is only 17 and is obviously not workshy, and is going to connexions which shows some degree of responsibility.
Why not suggest things they can do instead?

bikelover - have connexions worked with you on a CV?
As well as searching onl.ine I would register aswell, then you will haqve any suitable jobs emailed to you. If you develop a CV this can be posted online too and employers can search for candidates.
Could you possibly do some voluntary work while you're not employed? This would then add to your CV and skills.
Unfortunately it's not a good time for getting jobs, so you may just have to wait it out
Question Author
yes they have, i have now got my c.v up to date. i keep going there to see about jobs and go online, but nothing really cathches my eye. i know i shouldnt be to picky but there are just certain things that just dont interest me. i recently applied for a job instore and am awaiting reply. but i need money big time, as my bike wont pay for itself.

"i dont rli bover with job centre"

Did you drop out of school early? I would advise you get your exams before looking for jobs.
You're not allowed to say things like that round here, otherwise people will think you're "harsh"... LOL!
hi Bikelover,
Boots in Norwich castle mall are recruiting at the mo as my 17 year old daughter has just applied. You need to go onto the website to apply.

Good Luck
bucket suds & rubber window wiper - do the cars windscreens for a quick buck.
Question Author
well i tried boots a few times, each time i went on website it took like a year just to complete their questions etc. i got turned down first time and havnt bothered with them since. althou i do keep looking.

also, no i did not drop out. i even went to college for a year to gain some extra gcse
No offence, but if you've been to college and that is the standard of your writing, I wouldn't hold out much hope. Yes filling in questions may be boring but it is necessary.
tescos
and only you laughing at your own jokes MarkRae, what an inspired and helpful that one was too. Got any worthwhile to say?
