As some of you may know I was recently made redundant. There was less work coming in so 3 womens jobs turned into 1. One woman went voluntary and me and another woman went for the one job. The other girl got the job as she'd been there 17 years compared to my 13. Anyway I was asked to leave after a week and the other woman who went voluntary was asked to leave after a month as she got paid monthly. Anyway I went in to give her a leaving present when she was due to leave and she said they have now asked her to stay as they are too busy. Is this fair?

At least .. they would probably have to offer you settlement .. That could be some months salary. I don't think you have much (if anything) to lose by speaking to them 4get.
They will try to think of some excuse .. they probably have one already. Maybe qualifications? Or training completed?
