TITLE OF POSTING
Once again, this is “King John” (aka rockfordill) bidding you Welcome to my second week. You took me by surprise last week when you more or less took me apart and left me drained of points. I must try harder (as my school report often read!).
Talking of schools, between the 1930s and 1950s I was fortunate to go to an excellent prep school – which meant Latin and French from the tender age of 8. Thereafter, it was on to Grammar School, which went by the quaint title of “The Old Philological School”. Eventually, it was renamed Marylebone Grammar and lists among its celebrated Old Boys Jerome K Jerome (among others).
