Washing Machine removal
7 Answers
My new washing machine will be delivered next week but I have to uninstall the old one. Am I right in thinkingthis is just a case of turning off the red and blue taps and removing the pipes??? Is there water anywhere else in the machine I need to drain or whatever???
Thanks for any help - the installers won't uninstall as they are not insured.

Turn the taps off, but then put the machine on a wash cycle - just for a minute or so. This will open the water valves in the machine and relieve the pressure in the hoses. Otherwise, when you disconnect, you'll get a spurt of water from each one!
and, whane you have the new one installed, consider putting it in a tray... they're designed to hold the water in case your machine overflows. Additionally, don't let the installers talk you into reusing the old feeder hoses from the taps (faucets here in the U.S.) to the machine... not only do they need to be new ones, it'smuch better to spring for the extra money and install the ones wrapped in stainless steel (Seen here: http://www.doitbest.c...itbest-sku-431788.dib ) to precluding a burst hose running all the time you're out of town for a week...
