Why do we get them?

I've noticed a couple of stin tags appear just under my arms. Can I get rid of them? I wondered if shaving would do it or if I would bleed to death...

Hi you can try tying a piece of cotton fairly tight around them after about five day's they will have turned black and will drop off.You will have to get someone to do it for you unless you are double jointed.

sometimes they dissapear of their own accord...if they irritate you the doctor will remove them for you..

I've been advised by a medical student that a rather unorthodox but effective method of removing warts and other similar beneign little growths can be achieved by covering the offending item with Scotchgard Duct Tape for a month. Know it sounds wierd but apparently it often works, whether because it's something in the adhesive or the elimination of air, I don't know. But if you want to check it out, here's the relevant website: You can always cover the silver tape with a skin coloured plaster to disguise it. I once cut one off my chin with scissors, and it bled a bit, and hurt lots! I now get my doctor to freeze them, and they drop off a few days later.

I had a skin tag under my arm too and accidentally shaved it off!!!!Didn't hurt that much, bled a little but is absolutely fine now!!! Hope that helps!!
