Hysterectomy

Hi I had an Hysterectomy back in 1977, I still have my ovaries, my question is do I need to have any tests for cervical cancer or ovarian? thankyou WHF

I you are under 65 and still have your cervix you should still be screened. I do not know if they actually screen for ovarian cancer, as I have never heard of it.

Usually, in fact now, always, the cervix is removed at hysterectomy, so no,cervical cancer screening is not indicated.

If your ovaries are left intact.......yes, one needs to kepp malignant change in mind.

Just googled ovarian cancer screening and there is no accurate way of screening as yet.

Thankyou all, I will be 65 this year. I do suffer from a pain in my left hand groin some days this is so bad I have trouble walking with the pain. thankyou again WHF

That sounds more like arthritis in the hip which is often felt in the groin
