Although I disliked Jimmy Saville during his life time, is it fair that all these allegations are now coming to the surface now he is dead?
/// ‘I was angry that everyone kept saying how great he was.’ Now, she says she wants to see him stripped of his knighthood posthumously. ///
One has to ask why in all those years hasn't this woman and all the others come forward before with their stories?

Do tell, aog. Which, do you think, of the eleven women so far, have entirely invented a sexual assault, one which never happened at all, in the expectation of being paid for telling that lie to a newspaper?
Or are you saying that the one you first mentioned is telling the truth but has been attracted, by the lure of money, to publish what would otherwise be secret?
You only have to look at the cases of Catholic priests abusing boys to see that the victims are not believed, and if they do manage to get a case going. it's followed by many other victims coming forward, all many years after the event. Exactly the same happens in cases of assault on girls by older men who are respected, as Savile was. More seriously, you will commonly find cases, of incest where the victim doesn't go to the police until a decade or more has past and she is in her twenties or thirties; commonly what prompts her to go is the fear that 'baby; sisters still at home are then of an age to become victims, otherwise she'd keep it a secret.

they prey on the weak, young, vulnerable, and the victims don't speak up often for fear of retribution, and not being believed, and to some extent the police forces attitude, though it has changed somewhat over the years. If these women come forward let us see whether they have similar stories, and if they are consistent though they all live in totally separate areas of the country, then i believe these rumours have a basis in truth. I did hear similar when working at the BBC.
