I know I read before this current series that this was the end, and I did think last night that it was odd to introduce the "new girl" and then finish it ...... so hurrah for JF .... am glad there will be more ..... I hope Edith gets her newspaper man - poor girl is always overshadowed, and if Matthew is not in it, where has he gone?? Intrigued all over again now!!

they've got an Irishman but if they were going to use Black or Asian characters they should have done it before now, Big houses in Lancashire had Black servants from the 1600s and Downton could have had all kinds of nationalities, especially as they also have relatives in London, where there were thousands of Russian, Ukranian and Italian immigrants.

i am also a bit concerned that Downton is now having 'spoiler' articles printed in the soap magazines and even had a few soap magazine cover stories.

Matthew is appearing in a play on Broadway at the moment and a great crowd puller because of Downton being well received in the US.
Apparently when the cast went over for the awards a driver spotted "Mrs Pattmore" walking along Broadway and shouted out " I love you Mrs Pattmore" thats how popular it is there.

I was reading in the paper about Maggie Smith who had supposedly had an heart attack saying that it was not true,she had been for a check-up or something like that at the hospital and that she would be appearing in Downton in the future.
So that suggests to me that there will be more...fingers crossed!!!
