If one's utter disgust at these two worthless pieces of garbage makes some call a person an Islamaphobe, then so be it.

naomi - of course I believe what I have written - I would only ever post something I believed in on any serious subject anywhere on the AB.

This debate has decended into something - puerility is not the word I would choose.
i am of the firm belief that Naomi is right, it's largely political, with that point in mind, please explain why the authorities are fighting fires on several front, those Muslims who say it's their culture to have separate classrooms, girls being told not to sit with the boys, that their place in school, university is at the back of the classroom, or university debates
not being allowed to sit alongside a male, that mosques don't have shared praying, that many of these cultural influences have become much more prominent, that our tolerance on these issues will come back and bite us.
considering the very hard one rights for women in Britain.

The woman, wife that is the subject of AOG post is the one who refused on the grounds of her religion not to remove her veil in court, lots of hoo haaing over this, this is Britain, not Saudi, obey the laws and stop the judiciary from making allowances, because as soon as you do, then this issue will crop up again and again.
You seem to think that this is just knocking the adherents of Islam, well if they have brought their backwards ideology to these shores, it should be challenged at every turn. If born in Britain the same applies, stop bending over backwards because this surely will be a problem for our children and their children.
I don't like to see a woman wear a burkha, niqab, hijab, for what it's worth, and no one is going to persuade me that sitting next to a woman wearing the full regalia makes them feel uncomfortable.
shame it descended into some sort of playground spat, most can debate without resorting to this.
emmie - "shame it descended into some sort of playground spat, most can debate without resorting to this."

Indeed - my track record shows that I am certainly one of them.
perhaps, but looking back over the thread there are some pretty poor remarks, it would be nice to think that one can agree to disagree without getting personal, sadly i have seen that isn't always possible, and not just on this thread.
Hooray! Just come back to the site to find that AOG used 'rose-tinted specs' a few pages back and, as a bonus, made some generic comment about left wingers.

Congratulations, AOG . That is so much better than using facts of any kind. Condemn people as left wing (am I one;you did suggest I was brainwashed by left wing teachers ? ) without specifying any fact against whatever they have said or having rose-tinted specs, ditto.

As to the Mail. the objection to the Mail is that it spins stories. The Times, for example, does not.(Indicate if you can find such a thing) The Mail uses all the journalistic devices and distorts the account. It does so to appeal to the unthinking prejudice of anyone who might be swayed by that, and to attempt to nudge others in that direction.
The Times, the new home of the girly pic?

I paste herewith a piece (from a no doubt envious rival paper):

Was it the finest hour to date of John Witherow, totty-hunter? Thursday's Times carried an underwater photo of Kanako Kito, "displaying the grace and elegance", not to mention legs and cleavage, "that helped her to win silver in the Japanese synchonised swimming team at the 2004 [!] Olympics". Q. Was it somehow illustrating a news story? A. It was not. Q. Was there a Sochi link? A. Not possible: for obvious reasons, her sport has never featured in a Winter Olympics. Q. Was she at least performing it? No. Solo synchronised swimming is a contradiction in terms … In short, a triumph of girls-do-brighten-a-page gratuitousness.
