Not sure who that question is directed at LJ, but I have only been north of the Border once, and that is 1989, to attend a Conference in Aire. I don't remember much as I was either working hard of the worse the wear for drink at the time. ( at that time, I had never encountered the concept of double-drinking, Scottish-style...a pint of Heavy and a Dram at the same time)
But the Hebrides look really wonderful, and I hope to venture north again at some point in the future. It would be marvelous to listen to Mendelssohn's Hebrides Overture on my walkman, at the same time as actually viewing Fingals Cave from a boat !
