tapping/ticking noise

hi i bought a vauxhall vectra sri,its a v reg,2.0 engine and has done 120,000 miles and the cam belt was changed at 102,000 when is it going to need reoplacing or does it need doing...

my friend has a standard escort 1.8 si and has dump valve on that so must be a way to get it on mine...my friends was on when he bought it and his aint a turbo
