How much does a chimney sweep cost?

We have 2 chimneys, with gas fires underneath. Is it still important to keep them cleaned for gas fires? Grit comes down them onto the hearth when it rains. How much can I expect it to cost?

For some time now my PC will simply not recognise my camera. Have now given up and have been advised to buy a card reader. Can someone explain to me what this will do. Will I simply have to plug it...
