Broadband and Phone line

I have connected a new computer today, using the same cables etc as were used on the old hard drive. The broadband is working fine but we can not get the land line to work unless we unplug the phone...

We have Sky plus and 90% of the time we get perfect signal and no problems...except for when we want to record!! Then mysteriously we lose the signal! At the moment we have to wait till the programme...
