A ferrel cat that was born on our balcony....never been any trouble....is now 15 years old. Persian grey in colour and always " looked after " the other two younger girls.
sorry to hear that sqad, but as wolf said animals cope far better then humans , we have a semi blind half feral cat that lives outside in the stables and she copes fine xx
Sqad sorry to hear that - if you have a routine then you need to stick to it - as airborne will get easily confused.
Don't move the garden furniture around as that will confuse him too - and good luck its not the end of it - can you take him to the vets could it be cataracts (sp)
Hi Sqad......I'm sorry. If it helps two of my regular cattery cats were blind. Both coped extremely well at home and quickly adapted to the cattery and me....probably doesn't help or make you fell any better I know. xxx
Thanks all.......he tends to " look after" the other two who are much younger and are females. He comes on to eat, but immediately goes outside again which he prefers. Even when it is cold and windy, he still goes outside, to his den of chairs, cushions and a fleece lined dog kennel.
sqad start putting different herbs at Airborne's places - food, litter tray, water, steps etc - they learn amazingly quickly - get a grip and realise it's not such a big deal to animals.
Thanks all, it seems to be a little more than just blindness, both pupils are widely dilated and he deosn't seem to know where he is or aware of his surroundings.I will monitor the situation until tommorow and if there is no improvement then take him to the vets.
He is war and comfortable at the moment and I have taken his food to him and he has eaten.
sqad have you given him a wormer ? this happened to one of mine years ago when they were wormed, pupils got really big and he seemed really spaced out , i rang vet and he said it was a reaction to the wormer it took about a day and half for him to return to normal, only i would choose to worm the cats on a boxing day , vet must have thought stupid woman
