Laugh ye not at the words of the Lord :)

Back from the Birkenstock store. Lottie I tried those very sandals on...! only, in black. They weren't "grippy" enough for me though - I'm hysterically afraid of slipping after these four falls this winter. But I loved them... my feet looked positively Greek... or Roman... or something.

I did get the Tatami, same one I bought yesterday, but today I bought it in the right size - always an advantage:) And one pair of plastic clogs - not exactly like your Crocs Woofy but not too far off. The Crocs clogs go by the name of Foppatoffeln here - try that word on for size! (Toffel is clog, Foppa is the nickname of the ice hockey centre Peter Forsberg who introduced them here.) Shaney I think the Betula sandals I mentioned yesterday would fit anyone. But are they "shoes", I don't know. Neti are boots the thing to wear *this* summer in Spain or is it what people do, traditionally?

It's every summer and has been since I've been here. Many at time I've worn shorts and boots even to a nightclub at the Casino, very trendy.
Huh. That's odd, Neti. Well I could have just done my Manuel impersonation then, instead of buying summer shoes.

Can't find a piccy of my Betula sandals Shaney but they look like the original Birkenstock, only plastic. Very lightweight, very comfortable. Did y'all know that most of Birkenstock's shoes are made in two widths...?
I've spent ages looking at these various sandals and not one of them would look very good with Mediven support socks in black or a ghastly american tan colour .Flip flops or anything backless or strapless are completely out of the question these days except indoors .I can't walk any distance in them .When I say these socks are thick and tight I mean just that .I have a gadget to get them on with !
If I don't wear the bloody rotten socks my leg plays up and swells and I'm terrified of it ulcerating again .
I am not leaving the house now until October .

Vanity ..sheer vanity :))

Hi lottie, sorry you are not feeling too bright. This is why I rarely if ever do gardening! Take care and return to the loving bazooms of the biddies.

Hello All my Biddyfriends. Robi,Neti,Kit,Lottie,Dolly,Shaney,Jno,Woofy and not forgetting Vin. I have been reading all your posts and I wish all of you the best especially those of you with aches and pains, get well soon. I wont go into details about my going awol for a bit but I had some anxiety which I couldn't cope with very well and am now on the mend with the help of my dear sisters and brother. Also not forgetting you all as I have kept up with you everyday, Last but not least my family of blackbirds. They have been coming everyday for food and would you believe their chicks come now with them to be fed. I have taken photos of them feeding and when I get sorted I will put a couple on here to show you.
On a lighter note ~ have some new specs so I should be able to read and write a bit better than I have been doing.
I'm off out tomorrow and Thursday so if I don't get on, I've not done another runner, and I shall return. See yer later 'gater(s)
Love Jude x
oh I hope you're feeling better, Jude, a bit of a break from howling, drooling biddies is always good for the soul, I find.
Thanks Jno ~ Yes I feel a lot better. Hope you had a good trip. when's your next one?...

Hi Jude and everyone else. Well so much for sleeping all day. I am now wide awake and feeling much better, but I have an awful stiff neck.

I have been feeding Mr Raggy the blackbird all winter and up until a week ago. I have lots of blackbirds but Mr Raggy and his scraggy tail was my baby and I bought him sultantas which he has been taking from my hand. Last week he brought his babies to me. This week he has disappeared and this evening I found one of babies dead in the garden. I'm so sad and telling myself that I must stop treating birds and if they are my family.

I am going to make some bread in a minute and hopefully will soon feel tired enough to join a snoring Mr LL.

Love to you all.
Meant to say Jude that I, like you, tend to go into hiding when life isn't treating me well and I am suffering from anxiety. It's not that I don't love you all, just that I am not able to communicate with friends very well well I feel like that.
Well my Betulas may not be of any use to you then Shaney as they have no back or strap at the back - but they do fit very snugly when you adjust the straps *over* the foot. Sorry I can't find them on a shop site but think classic Birkenstock but plastic.

Hellooo Jude:)) Don't worry, there's no way we will LET you do a runner:) Good to see you out and about:)

That's sad about the blackbird, Lottie... Made me think of Elsa the Lion when you wrote he brought his babies to you... /I know that need to withdraw from time to time, and at times I have done so. Most of the time I'm doing a compromise I guess - I'm here but there's an awful lot I don't speak about on here. But this relationship with you lot;-) still feels very genuine to me.

I think we have the same Beatles favourite song Robi - it just keeps getting better over the years. Here's an evening raga (sort of) with not so serene footage though so just listen to the music, biddies. Will work well as a morning raga as well if yous have gone to bed now. (It's from that movie Sh1tehawk Down and everything but it still won't bring our Alfie out, I saw on RMD he's in London. And hasn't told US - TUT!! (Do you suppose he's auditioning for Big Brother he he he he he.)

Morning all, glad you are back and feeling better jude. Hope all aching Biddies are feeling better today. Now gilrs we must think positive, brace yerselves!!!!

I daren't feed birds or encourage them as my cat is a bugger for killing them.

I am getting more tanned every day, most unusual for me. I can't get over the fact that iam tanned with no revolting self-tan smell!!!
I tan quite easily as I have slightly olive skin (a product of my great-grandmother's misbehaviour, we think with an Indian gent in Melbourne), so I am looking healthy at the moment as long as you do not inspect my teeth.
Question Author
My husband and daughter have olive skin and look lovely with a tan, I have never tanned before and am lovin' it! My mother also had olive skin, so I had to inherit the slightly ginger tinge english rose skin, or as my doctor said Nordic skin. (this also thanks to my mother's indiscretions with a Canadian soldier in the war, I mean if you are going to bonk someone please think of the ensuing child's looks!) Luckily with lightening my hair I do resemble my sisters, so don't look too out of place, although a couple of my bros have dark hair. What's the saying, "It's a wise child who knows it's own father"
good morning...another day in paradise....

Vinny did tell us about his trip Kit, in fact I packed his case...

Well, blow your tan Neti, I have white legs with pink insteps, a red blotchy neck and arms that are reddish brown until they get to just above the elbow where they go white. So there!!

I hate sunbathing with a vengeance. It's too boring, so I shall stick to my gardening which I find therapeutic!! he he I know how you feel about gardening.
Good morning by the way - am just going out to help search for a lost dog :o( (not mine - but I shall take her with me!!)
