Hello All Somebody call?! Thanks for the Elvis interlude Vin and Robi cheered up my Wednesday no end. I remember blue bags OMO and plastic flowers. Those were the days. I had a load of Elvis 78's and I lent them to a girl at school and she told me she had fallen off the bus and broken them all. I've never forgiven her!! Going to do a bit of gardening now - digging up the dead bluebells. Even so they'll still be back next year Lol :o)

This is me in 1968, when I had washed my hair in Omo as I had no shampoo to hand!!

oh no, we're not doing a 'Scarey Hairy Gallery' now are we? I'll see what I can confess to later....

lol jno I'm 6" shorter since I started coming on to AB...I had to have an 'eject after 3 hours' gizmo fitted to my chair.

Can't get over how drop dead gorgeous you all are/were/are, possums. Shaney, I'd kill for your eyebrows. Me I'm like the unofficial love child of Marilyn Manson and the Mona Lisa. look what i've got ...I'll trade you, you know./Where's your cheese slogan/poem, can't find it?
Vinny is that a dead cat on the armchair...? (Yeah yeah Robinia it did take me twentyfour hours to move my gaze to the right, don't rub it in. We don't get a whole lot of these open heart surgery shirts up here, you see, that's all.)
A while back you were all talking about paintings (I had never seen that Picasso, Neti, I liked it) and I wanted to show you van Gogh's almond blossoms but Tinypic was down and then I never got around to it again. I had it on a beautifully printed poster that I very much regret giving away after a few years of 'wear'. I believe he painted it as a gift for his brother Theo & wife after their first child was born. Earlier this spring my eldest half-sister who is currently living in Tokyo posted something vaguely reminiscent of that van Gogh: Hanami (Cherry Blossom Viewing) in Yoyogi Park
this is one of hers too, from a trip they made to China.
van Gogh's bed where eventually he died. I had that one too on a poster and I still have it on a tin box. Finally, one that I'll buy sooner or later, I'm sure:
night at the rhone

Guess what, Robinia, the van Gogh pavement cafe you mentioned earlier on on this thread, we had it on the wall when I grew up. I don't even know if I like it or not, it's just a part of me. If you were both in a time warp, that could have been my father snitching it from right under your nose at the curiosity shop, he thrives on engaging in that kind of tug-of-war, and especially with a foreigner - which in his eyes you'd be even if this took place in the UK... The painting is visible on the wall on one of my childhood photos and I thought about posting it here just to tease you, but my mother was entangled in that picture too and she's dead, can't ask her how she feels about having her mug on the AB, so...
