Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
1223 Answers
Now that JK Rowling has officially named her next book who do you think is the half-blood prince?? I initally thought it could possibly be something to do with Neville Longbottom, but have since remembered that both his parents were wizards therefore he is full blood. Anyone any suggestions as to who it could possibly be??

I don't understand why he's a prince! I believe J.K. Rowling said Mark Evans was not important - he was most likley used as characterization for Dudley. Also Harry couldn't have a twin. First of all the twin would be in as much danger as Harry, they were both born at the end of July to parents who had challenged Voldemort 3x's. If he did have a twin, wouldn't the twin be at the Dursleys' too, where else would he go? Also, Harry's twin would be just as famous as Harry (the other boy who lived!) ... or dead!
well we know:
a)its not harry or voldermort
b)mark evans is a nobody (see j.k's site under faqs)
c)its not ron, draco, or neville because they are pure bloods
d)its definately a boy
e)hbp was originaly the title for chamber
i thought colin creevey was a muggle born. i remember him being so fascinated with moving pictures because he had never seen them before .... unless his mother was a witch and died before they knew about it.
what about the twins friend lee jordan we don't know much about him
it could be dumbledore but i don't think so.
it could also be firenze maybe he is so loyal to dumbledore because he is only half-centaur. rowling didn't say anything about the half blood being half human blood.
oh and btw kelly .... voldermorts father was also named tom riddle ... hence in COS the memory of tom riddle changes his name around to be i am lord voldermort and says to harry "you didn't think i would keep my filthy muggle fathers name did you" hence the tom riddle that died was tom riddle senior voldermorts dad
Hi personally think that Harry or Sirius Black has some type of realative that no one knows about who is half-blood. I also agree with allt eh people who said it wont be Harry. But it might possibly be someone of a Voldermort. I mean Voldermort could have like a secret ansestor( thats still alive) who is a very powerful person. I dont think this person is realy a prince either. I think shes just exaggerating it to make the person seem powerful and almighty. I just can't wait to find out wat happens. The bookstore casheir told me that the earliest she (rowling) would have this book done would be Christmas this year(2004) i hope so anyone else who cant wait tell me ---manda
Well, its been a few days since I posted anything because I went back and scoured book #2 again. JKR stated that the 2nd book was almost had the 6th book's name and that many clues regarding book 6 was in book 2. This is my conclusion for what its worth. For those that have said it's Tom Riddle, I really agree with and I will tell you why. Dobby stated that before he became Voldemort he could be named freely (thats because he really didn't exist yet). Dumbledore stated that after Tom left school, he got involved with the "worst of us" & underwent so many dangerous, magical transformations that when he resurfaced as Voldemort, very few even knew who he was once the clever, handsome Head boy here. When Harry went back 50 years in the diary, he saw Tom meeting with the headmaster about staying on at the school during the summer. The headmaster asked if he was muggle born, Tom replied, "Half-blood sir." I don't remember seeing that term used before he used it. There are so many more clues but it makes perfect sense. Book 6, is going to go into more detail about Tom Riddle which will end up shedding a lot more light on why he became Voldemort and why there is such a resemblance between Tom and Harry's early lives, both orphans, half-bloods, etc. This may also clue us in on why he went after Harry instead of Neville. Let me know what you think.
dunno who it could be but i've never seen mention of a mark evans anywhere. and in response to someone querying about whether riddle and voldemort are one and the same they obviously are becuz in 'chamber' riddle writes "my name is tom riddle' and scrambles it and then it says 'he is lord voldemort'.
i think possibly the HBP is someone new because of the way someone else mentioned that each book title introduces something or someone new. i cannot wait till book 6 comes out!
Re; Mark Evans. I never clicked onto him, but on her website, JK states that it's just a coincedence that Mark and Lily share the same surname. After all, Evans is a pretty common name.
I think it's most likely Dumbledore or Hagrid- I like the idea that Dumbledore is the protector (or prince) of half-bloods.
Does anyone think Dean Thomas might be given more of a role. Have a look at her sight and you'll find that JK really has a soft spot for him, and Dean's a half-blood, whose father was killed by Deatheaters when he refused to join them, although Dean doesn't know it.
Some stuff from COS was cut, and is now in book 6. The background story to Dean was cut from Chamber of Secrets. I think Dean has a bigger role to play.
I think we are going to find out more about Tom Riddle's parents, grandparents, etc., which may explain the "prince". We know nothing about his grandfather, Marvolo. There is so much still to find out about Tom Riddle/Voldemort and what the significance is of the uncanny similarities between Harry and himself right down to sharing wands with the same core. Mr. Ollivander made a point to notify Dumbledore to let him know who bought the other wand. This is the sixth book of no 7 also. There is so much to reveal about the main characters still & the fact that book 2 was almost named HP and the HBP, it just seems to fit.
C'mon guys, what the hell, stop with the Mark Evans, JKR has already entirely cleared up that rumor, now hasn't she, she just said that Evans was just a common name she decided to use. By the way, I'm not like the avid Harry Potter that reads the books thirty times over just to get facts but I was wondering, is Severus Snape even pure blood???
