Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

Now that JK Rowling has officially named her next book who do you think is the half-blood prince?? I initally thought it could possibly be something to do with Neville Longbottom, but have since remembered that both his parents were wizards therefore he is full blood. Anyone any suggestions as to who it could possibly be??

ohh yea!!! since i'm american and dont no as much about this book as u ppl over in england because u get the news first if u find out when the book is coming out can u im me some time at tster221221 if u can and im on at the same time as u. peas!!!!

if a hint appears at the chamber of secrets then a heir of gryfindor would make an appearence. i also think that a mark evans will play an important role although i don't think he is the half blood prince. i think if a gryfindor heir appears he will be the half blood prince. so sad that is a prince and not a princess. but i agree that the prince does not need to be a half blood but could also protect look after half bloods.
With the comment JK Rowling made about HBP being the possible title for Chamber of Secrets, and JK Rowling being a bit complicated and clever about these things, I'd have to say it's Tom Riddle, as he was/is the heir of Slytherin, thus making him a prince, if indeed Tom Riddle and Lord Voldemort are separate. Lupin is also Half-Blood, so that's another possibility.
Gilderoy lockharte; He was the prince but accidently erased his own memmory, before he tried it on harry andf ron in CoS, so he became a writer.
Colin creavely, yeah why not?
Seamus, a woefully underused charecter, I think he could be it, we know for sure he is half blood.
Here's my theory abouthow Jk should wind the series up. Harry destroys Voldemort by using a time turner and talking Tom riddle out of becoming voldemort. therefore Voldemort never existed and so is destroyed. Tom riddle becomes a fine upstanding citizen and manages florish and blotts in diagon alley, Harry's parents are alive and he grows up a normal kid who goes to hogwarts, but not famous, All the other dead ones, (sirius, diggory, numerous arouras) never died. and harry live happily ever after with cho chang?
Listen, Neville can't be the hbp because he's a pureblood and even though he could've been in the prophecy voldemort picked harry and that just makes neville history. Divedude that was a very nice way to wind things up but if it were as simple as that they would have already tried it would they not?
I am astounded that ive got nearly 400 answers!!!! I think i'll give it another week or so and then ill shut the question down. My inbox is groaning with all the messages! Thanks to everyone who has posted an answer. I would give you all three stars but i think i would be here all day (and night, and tomorrow and possibly the next day!!)
i personally agree with "flip"; I think it will be Dumbledore. At first, I also thought it would be about Neville, and it can't be Oliver Wood. He was barely mentioned in book 5. It might have something to do with Percy, if you want to look at the full bloods as well. Possibly also Draco Malfoy. That would just kill him to find out he's a half blood. We'll find out soon!

Ok,
First of all. This Mark Evans business is driving me nuts. JK said that Mark Evans is a nobody, a mistake that she made because Evans is a common name. Check it out on her website.
As for who the Half Blood Prince is I don't know. My suspicions would be, Gryffindor, Colin Creevy, Justin-flich (or something), and although I know that Jk said it wasn't Voldemort, as in the case of the second book, it might be his younger version, Tom Riddle.
I think that the name of the book will have more of a significance towards the end of the book as Jk says that book six and seven are more like two parts of the same book.
does mark evans live by harry? i cantfind him in the book, but if he does then hes not a wizard because harrys the only wizard in his town, they say so at his hearing. the half-blood prince is definetley not malfoy or neville, we know theyre pure blood. i think its collin creevey. lockhart is a good guess too.
