Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

Now that JK Rowling has officially named her next book who do you think is the half-blood prince?? I initally thought it could possibly be something to do with Neville Longbottom, but have since remembered that both his parents were wizards therefore he is full blood. Anyone any suggestions as to who it could possibly be??

I belive its Harry since he is a half blood it could also be said that its voldemort because he as Harry is a halfblood but in the end i belive Harry will defet voldemort

i mentioned earlier that i thought it was harry or Voldormort only to be proved wrong. If you will notice on J K Rowling's website she had an entire backround history writen for Dean Thomas. she cut this from book 2 (chamber of secrets) the history stated that Deans dad was killed by Death Eaters while he was a child and Dean's dad happened to be a wizard (niether Dean or his mom know this)making his mother muggle and father wizard therfore he is a halfblood JK also says on her site that many things were cut from the second book and were transfered to the sixth. The 2 book was origanally going to be called Harry Potter and the halfblood prince so that means the halfblood prince has to be in the second book. So therfore i belive the halfblood prince is none other than Dean Thomas.( note that Deans dad had to be important if he was killed by death eaters and also Ginny and Dean are now together if that means anything)

Sry to break it to ya but i think it might be someone already known in the series but not very popular. I mean look at Neville!! And who says it has to be a guy??? It could be a girl pretending to be a prince.

my best friend and i have been discucssing all possibilities of who the half blood prince could be and we are assuming that it is Seamus Finnigan. If you will recall...he is a half blood (his my is a witch and his dad is a muggle). We are also going on our knowledge of how J.K Rowling introduces characters. She did not just throw Sirius at us...there was some knowledge of him even from The Sorcerer's Stone (Hagrid had his motorcycle and mentioned his name). We do not believe that she would just throw some completely new character in the story that has the answers to everything. And Seamus makes some sense! :)

Has anyone considered Seamus Finnigan? He's a half-blood -- Muggle father, Witch mother. Perhaps Seamus is actually the direct descendant of an Irish king!

Voldermort is not an alter ego of Tom Riddle...So there will be no turning him back...He was always evil, he just changed his name. As For the half blood prince.. I think it ma be Seamus Finnigan... his mother is a witch and his father is a muggle....since it is known that it is neither harry nor voldermort....there is also a chance it could be Hagrid or Dumbledore

After Reading A Lot Of These Answers Ive made this final conclusion>> Mark Evans=NO WAY...Tom Riddle=No Way...He Is Definently Voldermort...In OOTP when Voldermort and Dumbledore duel, Dumbledore refers to Voldermort as Tom... A Student He Suspected of Being Evil For A Long Time....Hagrid Was Introduced In The First Book....Dean was never really mentioned that much....Justin was a muggleborn ....So was Colin Creevy...Lockhart is a good candidate...Neville is a pureblood which is stated by Dumbledore....Snape was introduced in the first book... Im gonna watch the movie and check for clues

What about Snape? Iv read that he plays a big part in HBP so maybe its him. Also they never say what he did with his first chance, because in GoF Moody says Dumbledor gave Snape a second chance. They never even say if he's pure, half, or muggle born. So Snape can be a possibility.

I don't think that j.k.r will institute a new charactur in too the plot I think she will bring too light a charactur no one has thought of as being the h.b.p. that way the tory might have a new twist.

I dont think the half blood prince can be Mark Evans, I was on JKs site n she said he was just a passer-by, but it could be him. But what about Snape, Dean, or Seamus. But its not Malfoy, Ron, or Neville their all purebloods. And also i dont know how you get passed the door on JKs site, all i got was the phone.

it cant be mark evans because he lives in the same town harry does, in when harry has his hearing the someone in the ministery says that there is no other wizards in harrys town. so therefore it cant be him. But theres still Snape :D

Well i read that this person comes up in the 2nd HP book. And oviously is a half blood. I think it could be a boy that Harry, Ron, and Hermione shortly meet. Named Justin Finch- Fletchley. I highly doubt it though.But some poeple in HP books become inportant like Mrs. Figg. I really think its Tom Riddle because its not Harry nor Voldemort and Voldemort really doesnt consider himself Tom Riddle but Voldemort and Riddle does play a key part in the 2nd book so i think thats who it is.
