Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

Now that JK Rowling has officially named her next book who do you think is the half-blood prince?? I initally thought it could possibly be something to do with Neville Longbottom, but have since remembered that both his parents were wizards therefore he is full blood. Anyone any suggestions as to who it could possibly be??

I know this sounds weird, but I definately think Dudley Dursley is the half blood prince! I read on a website somewhere that Petunia is neither muggle-born nor squib, so surely that could mean she is a witch? Vernon is definately not a wizard, so therefore Dudley would be half-blood, meaning he could be the half-blood prince! It also said on this particular website that we will be hearing alot more about Petunia in the 6th book, and that there is more to her than meets the eye. And let's not forget the note that Dumbledore sent to Petunia in the Order of the Phoenix, 'Remember my last, Petunia'. I wonder what this could mean?...

What the letter means is in the poll in F.A.Q.( the paperclips) on the jk rowling site. And what is that site you are talking about? I would like to read the one that Petunia is not muggleborn. I didn�t hear from that till now.

Actually, I have changed my mind about Dudley Dursley being the half blood prince.Here are a few possibilities I have now..Draco Malfoy, Moaning Myrtle, or even Aragog! Who said it had to be a human? Right, i'll explain my theories. Draco Malfoy: on a website, it says we will be seeing more of Narcissa Malfoy. Just because it says the MALFOYS are pure blood, doesn't mean the BLACKS are all pure blood! That could mean that dear old Draco could be the half blood prince. Moaning Myrtle: Who said it was a boy?!? It only really started explaining Moaning Myrtle in book 2, so she could also be the HBP. Aragog: Also, he was introduced in book 2. If you go on www.hermione-heaven.net and click on the link where it says 'Other' under the heading 'Books six and seven', then it will say that Moaning Myrtle, Krum and Aragog will be back. Also, is Blaise Zabini a boy or a girl? We will be seeing that person more in the 6th book aswell, so it could be Blaise! My main HBP is actually Aragog at the moment, because he seems the most likely candidate.

Actually the Malfoys and the Blacks both would have be Pure, why? BECAUSE THEY SAY IT IN BOOK5! thats why bellatrix, narcissa, and sirius are all related, because of them being ALL PURE BLOOD that the choices of marrying someone are limited, the parents would prohibited it, because they wouild only let pure bloods into the family, therefore anyone on the Sirius family tree would have to be pure blood

this may not seem relevant but it could be dobby since he is intoed in CoS and I`m guessing it is not a girl JK says the prince is in CoS in OotP sirius says that he is somehow distantly related to the Weasleys so it can`t be ron JK said its not harry or voldermort gilderoy is not going to be in the rest of the books mark evans is not in CoS draco is also related ton sirius so he can`t be halfblood grawp is not in CoS JK said its not hagrid personally i`m rereading CoS so i see it might be tom riddle but i doudt it dumbledore might be it because you don`t know much about his past neville is pureblood i read earlier somebody thought it was aragog even though i doubt it is him because it is just said he is a monster that doesn`t mean he is a mix breed with anything else but i do agree it might might not be a human(prince that is) so i think it could be dobby once again

hi, i've read all the books and i've been searching on the internet about this book, i've read all ur posts, i think i may have stumbled on something it said they asked a question about petunia here it is "She also tantalisingly answered a question about Aunt Petunia. When asked, JK said no, Petunia is not a squib, as she is muggle-born, but...... and left the sentence hanging."

i haven't a clue about the half blood prince but i think it may well b dudley because if it has been mentioned that its harrys shortest visit ever then dudley may well b a half blood and then enrole at hogwarts in the 5th year (tho not likely) and that may b the secret to the title but the prince bit i cannot explain, she also mentioned this:

Aberforth Dumbledore is the barman in the Hog's Head
Dumbledore's patronus is a phoenix
Grawp will be more controllable in the sixth book
We will see a bit more of Rita Skeeter
There will be a new character called McLagan
Harry does NOT have a godmother 

any one have any ideas on anything i''ve said?

I think its DUDLEY DURSLEY! That's right! You never know...aunt petunia could be a squib or something...then again, ther isnt a wat that dudley could be a prince...what about the new defense against the NEW DEFENSE AGAINST THE DARK ARTS TEACHER? I think it�s Hagrid. He is very important for Harry and one of he�s best friends. So, why not?

Oh, i forgot. I heard that the sixt book has to do something with the second. And in the second book Hagrid is pretty important. Also, don�t forget Aragog. I don�t think that he is the prince, but I do think that he has to do something with the sixt book. Well, let`s wait and see who is it!!!

I am of the opinion that either Albus Dumbledore or Mark Evans could be the prince.It coulod also be another simple character which we have not thought about and who has not been described in detail like Aberforth (dumbledore's brother)or it could be a dead person.Wormtail should not be forgetten too.Lastly it could be a completely new character.(chances are that the prince is an old man coz a description of such a person has been given in the excerpt in Rowling's official website.)

Sirius as a halfbreed is a new and novel notion...yes I like that idea as a very interesting thing that could be revealed. Though I wonder about the Hagrid issue, as see to my posts on the page with post-numbers 801-820. J.K. has put in sooo many untold pieces of the story, random characters or things that later become important, and unexplained motives of most of the other characters in the book besides Harry--that she could literally sit back, read all of the ideas on what is going to happen and then write a story that no one thought of. Personally I believe that if she had the whole story already planned and pieces written in advance like the final chapter in book 7 that is supposed to be locked in some office, then shouldn't she have already written all the books by now? Yes, yes, I can understand movies slowing her down, but by golly they are making the movies faster than she has made books. J.K. if you are out there in cyberland spending your "freetime" reading this site, I implore you to stop it and just go finish book six pronto, heck use some of our ideas already and get on with it :)

I think that even hagrid may be the Half-blood prince.And the sixth book may contain some thing very important about the gaints.In is also a possibility that hagrid may become the leader of giants with his "little" brother's help. What do thin of this as an answer?Ha..Ha..ha.....
