I've just seen on Facebook (bit of a Teen Mom fan) and one of the girls is pregnant and is doing a 3 hour Glucose Test - can someone tell me why?

because pregnant people are at risk of gestational diabetes, which can be fatal to the child if undetected. If for example, there is sugar in a wee test, or if the mother is obese you get tested

I wondered Bednobs just wasn't sure. I'm assuming with me being diabetic things will be different if I get round to having babies

My friend had gestational diabetes....her babies were massive.

That's the part that worries me ummm, although I'm told if you keep to a tight regime you should be ok, but it's easier said than done

They might decide to induce the labour if baby is too big.

That's what I'd like to avoid. I'm not ready for babies yet but it's better to be prepared.

I was tested for that - didn't have it, but did have a 9lb 13oz baby!

Ouch but well done Annie. My mum says she was tested too but she didn't have it either.

I was also tested but didn't have it after sugar showed up in urine. My daughter was 8lb but I think that's because of the number of cheese baguettes I ate!

Yes that and pickled red cabbage which I still like but I find cheese boring now.

Bless, I wonder what I'll crave when I fall pregnant - as long as it's nothing like what my gran and mum craved I'll be ok
